Why Northeast Arkansas patients make the drive
Patients from Jonesboro, Walnut Ridge, and Pocahontas who choose us are choosing a specific way of doing full-arch implants: one surgeon who plans and places every implant himself, an in-house lab that designs and makes your teeth on site, and a surgeon who can treat almost anybody, including patients who were told elsewhere that they do not have enough bone.
When you live more than two hours away, the question is not only who does the work but how many times you have to make the trip. That is why the out-of-town plan matters most here: your history and any medical clearance are handled before you come, your records, surgery, and bite check happen on three back-to-back days, and qualifying patients come back once, about three weeks later, for final zirconia teeth.
Dr. Noland performs more than 15 full-arch All-on-X cases every month. He also places single implants, so the same planning applies if you are replacing one tooth.
Your drive from Jonesboro, Walnut Ridge, and Randolph County
From Jonesboro: about 110 road miles, roughly 2 hours 20 minutes without stops. The usual route heads west on AR-226 to US-67, follows US-67 south toward Searcy, then takes state highways west through the Pangburn area into Heber Springs.
From Walnut Ridge and Lawrence County: about 109 road miles, roughly 2 hours 15 minutes, nearly all of it straight down US-67.
From Pocahontas and Randolph County: about 123 road miles, roughly 2½ hours, by US-67.
Plan on about 2½ hours each way, and check live directions before you leave.
Along the way:
With a drive this long, some patients prefer to arrive the evening before Day 1. Ask our team when you schedule, and we will help you plan the timing.
For patients traveling from Jonesboro
The out-of-town plan: three days here, one trip back
From Jonesboro, every trip to Heber Springs is close to a five-hour round trip, so we plan to make as few of them as possible. For qualifying patients, Dr. Noland can fit the full-arch process into a single three-day visit and one return trip. Whether this plan is right for you depends on your health, your bone, and how your implants do on surgery day, and your final timeline is always confirmed at your consultation.
-
Before you travel
Medical history by phone
A team member walks through your health history, medications, and goals with you over the phone, so your time in Heber Springs is spent planning your smile, not filling out forms.
-
Before you travel
Medical clearance, handled ahead of time
If your history calls for it, we request clearance from your physician before your visit, so nothing holds up surgery day.
-
Day 1
Records and your plan
Arrive for your 3D CBCT scan, photos, and digital records. Then sit down with Dr. Noland to talk through your goals and finalize your treatment plan together.
-
Day 2
Surgery, and fixed teeth the same day
Dr. Noland places your implants himself, and you leave with a fixed set of temporary teeth that same day. If you choose sedation, plan on a driver.
-
Day 3
Fit and bite check, then home
We check the fit, fine-tune your bite, go over care at home, and you head back to Jonesboro with your new smile.
-
About 3 weeks later
One return trip for final zirconia teeth
Patients Dr. Noland approves for our 3-week zirconia option come back once to have their final zirconia teeth seated, designed and milled in our in-house lab. You trade months in a temporary for your final smile in a matter of weeks, and skip the extra trips that come with a longer wait. Dr. Noland selects patients for this option at his discretion, case by case.
Good to know. Getting your final teeth early does not rush the healing underneath. A soft-food diet for the first three months and your scheduled follow-up visits, including a six-month evaluation, are still part of the plan, and we schedule them with your drive in mind. If the 3-week option is not the right fit for you, you follow our standard path: fixed temporary teeth while you heal, then final zirconia teeth after the healing phase, typically 3 to 5 months of visits.
Where to stay: two options, both about 10 minutes from our office
For the three-day visit, we suggest booking two nights, the evenings of Day 1 and Day 2, so you are not driving back to Jonesboro between your records visit, surgery, and bite check. Our patients use two places in particular. Both are about 10 minutes from the office, which keeps surgery-day travel short.
Red Apple Inn: the resort option
A boutique resort on Eden Isle, on Greers Ferry Lake. Rooms with Old World charm, a restaurant and bar in house overlooking the lake, two seasonal outdoor pools, a fitness center, an 18-hole golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, and forest trails. Condos and houses with full kitchens sleep 4 to 10 if family is coming along. It is the quieter, nicer place to rest after surgery, with meals a short walk from your room.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites: the budget option
In town, a few minutes from the office. Free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi and parking, a fitness center, a seasonal outdoor pool, guest laundry, and pet-friendly rooms for a fee. Our patients get a special rate here. Ask our team for it when you schedule, before you book.
Book directly with either hotel, and bring the person who is driving you. Our team is happy to help you line up your reservation dates with your appointments.

Questions from Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas patients
How far is Heber Springs from Jonesboro?
About 110 road miles, roughly 2 hours 20 minutes, by AR-226 and US-67, then state highways west past Searcy. Plan on about 2½ hours each way.
I live in Walnut Ridge or elsewhere in Lawrence County. How far is it?
Walnut Ridge is about 109 road miles, roughly 2 hours 15 minutes, almost all of it straight down US-67. The same out-of-town plan applies.
What about Pocahontas and Randolph County?
Pocahontas is about 123 road miles, roughly 2½ hours, by US-67. For Randolph County patients, handling your history and clearance by phone before you come and keeping the main treatment to one three-day stay make the biggest difference.
How many times will I need to drive down?
For qualifying patients on the out-of-town plan, the main treatment takes two trips: one three-day visit for records, surgery, and a bite check, and one return trip about three weeks later for final zirconia teeth. Follow-up visits, including a six-month evaluation, are still part of your care, and we schedule them with your drive in mind.
Can my doctor in Jonesboro provide my medical clearance?
Yes. We take your medical history by phone first, and if your health history calls for clearance, we request it from your physician ahead of time so nothing delays surgery day.
Where should we stay?
We suggest two nights in Heber Springs, the evenings of Day 1 and Day 2. The Red Apple Inn on Eden Isle, on Greers Ferry Lake, is the resort option, and the Holiday Inn Express in town is the budget option with a special rate for our patients. Both are about 10 minutes from the office. With a drive of two and a half hours, you may want to add the night before Day 1 as well. Book directly with the hotel, and our team can help you line up the dates.
